Vietnamese Hair Bundles: Specs, Textures and Wholesale

Vietnamese Hair Bundles: Specs, Textures and Wholesale

Vietnamese hair bundles are wefted human hair sourced in Vietnam, sold at 100g per bundle in lengths from 8 to 32 inches. The hair has a thinner shaft than Indian or Chinese hair. Texture, weft type and drawn type move the price more than length does.

That is the product. The confusion starts with the label, because "Vietnamese" on a bundle wrapper describes where a factory says the hair came from, and nobody audits that claim.

So this page covers the specs you can measure and the questions worth asking a supplier before you wire anything.

Raw Vietnamese Hair

What Vietnamese hair is

Hair grown by women in Vietnam, cut as a ponytail, and wefted. The properties buyers care about come from the donor population and from what happens to the hair after the cut.

Shaft thickness compared to Indian and Chinese hair

Vietnamese hair sits thinner in the strand than Indian or Chinese hair. In practice that shows up in two places: it blends into finer client hair without a visible line at the weft, and it takes bleach with less swelling. A 100g bundle also looks less bulky than 100g of Chinese hair at the same length, which catches out buyers switching origins.

Thinner is a trade-off, not a grade. A stylist building volume on coarse client hair will get a better match from Indian hair. That is a fitting decision, and any supplier who tells you one origin wins every time is selling, not advising.

Natural cuticle alignment

Cut a ponytail, keep it tied, weft it in that state, and every cuticle scale still points the same direction. Strands slide past each other. Matting is what happens when half the strands run the other way.

Raw Vietnamese hair has a thinner shaft than Indian or Chinese hair and a naturally aligned cuticle. We source it directly from women in rural communities across northern Vietnam. No mixing, no synthetic blends, no acid-stripped "remy" relabeled as raw. The 6-step process keeps the cuticle layer intact through coloring.

Sourcing is step one of our 6-step production process. Steps two through six are sorting and cuticle alignment, natural air drying on racks for six to eight hours with no industrial heat, bleaching and colouring, quality inspection, then extension production.

Textures sold as Vietnamese hair bundles

Two categories get sold under one heading. Some patterns grew on the donor. Others came out of a steamer.

Texture Grown or applied What it does after three washes
Natural straight Grown Returns to its own straight pattern
Natural wave Grown Returns to its own wave
Natural curly Grown Returns to its own curl
Body wave Steam applied Relaxes toward the donor base pattern
Loose wave Steam applied Relaxes toward the base pattern
Deep wave Steam applied Relaxes fastest of the applied patterns
Bone straight Heat and chemical Holds, because the change is permanent

Steam texturing is standard manufacturing and plenty of good hair goes through it. The problem starts in one situation: when a steamed bundle is sold as raw. Raw hair carries the pattern the donor grew, so a steam pattern and a raw claim cannot both be true on the same bundle.

Ask which category you are buying before you ask the price. Then ask what the pattern looks like at wash five, since that is the call your client will make about reordering.

Our wave stock sits in body wave bundles, and the full range across textures is in Vietnamese hair bundles.

Steam Processing And What It Changes

Standard specs

Lengths

Standard production is 8 to 32 inches. We can do 34 and 36, but stock is limited and lead time is longer.

Measure a sample yourself, stretched, from the top of the weft to the tip. Length shortage is the single most common complaint we hear from buyers who switched to us, and it is trivial to check with a tape.

Weight per bundle

100g, weighed at packing.

The 80g bundle labelled 100g is an old trick and it survives because almost nobody weighs. A kitchen scale costs less than one bundle. Weigh the first bundle of every order, dry, and log the number.

Weft construction

Weft type Where it fits Trade-off
Machine weft Sew-in installs, highest durability Thickest weft, most visible at the base
Genius weft Salon work needing a thin base Slower to make, costs more
Hand-tied weft Fine hair, flat install Lowest tolerance for tension, sheds if cut wrong

Match the weft to the install. A machine weft cut without sealing will shed regardless of how good the hair is.

Colour range

Vietnamese hair grows natural black through dark brown. Everything blonde, everything fashion, everything balayage is a bleaching decision made after the cut.

We bleach, dye, and color in-house at our factory. Most Vietnamese hair factories only sell natural black. Buyers pick from a physical colour ring we ship before the order is finalised, which removes the argument about whether a screen showed the right 613.

What Vietnamese hair bundles cost wholesale

Retail is public. Wholesale is not, and any number published without a length, a texture and a quantity attached to it is decoration.

Here is the retail band, pulled from the Google Shopping and organic results for "vietnamese hair bundles" on 18 August 2026: single bundles listed between $49.50 and $519, with most sellers between $65 and $170. The ygwigs.com collection ranking first that day showed a $52 to $155 range; Haute Hair ATL listed $170 to $245; Glam Affair Hair Co. listed $155 to $305. These are seller-published retail prices, not audited, and they move.

Wholesale sits below all of it, and the gap widens with quantity. What moves your unit price:

  1. Length. The jump from 20 to 26 inches costs more than the jump from 14 to 20, because long donor ponytails are scarce.
  2. Drawn type.Single drawn is one length band with natural taper. Double drawn is hand-sorted so the bundle is one thickness end to end, which throws away usable hair.
  3. Texture.Steam-textured patterns add a processing step. Raw single-donor stock is capped by how many ponytails exist.
  4. Weft type.Hand-tied and genius wefts are slower to make than machine wefts.

We do not publish a price list, for the reason above. Send the length, texture and quantity on WhatsApp and you get the tier that applies to your order. Wholesale volume gets a better per-unit price, so include the quantity in the first message.

Vietnam against the other sourcing countries

Short version, because origin deserves its own page.

"Brazilian" and "Peruvian" are trade labels for textures, and a bundle carrying either label has usually never been near South America. India runs on temple hair and salon-floor collection through a long chain of intermediaries. China supplies volume at coarse shaft thickness.

Vietnam is traceable in a way the others are structurally not. The collection points are rural villages, the factories are a few hours from those villages, and a buyer can fly in and watch a cut. That is the whole argument, and it only holds if the vendor lets you look.

Channel NewsAsia and NPO Netherlands have both filmed inside our factory. Both broadcasts are public: AZ Hair on Channel NewsAsia and our NPO Netherlands feature. You can also watch our factory tour without asking permission first.

How to order

MOQ

One bundle at 100g to test. One wig, or one closure or frontal, on the same basis.

Wholesale minimums are higher than one bundle, and the per-unit price improves with quantity. Send your quantity on WhatsApp for the tier.

Lead time

1 to 2 working days for in-stock items. 10 to 12 working days for custom production, which covers custom colour, custom length runs and private-label packaging.

Anyone quoting a 3-day turnaround on a custom colour order is reselling somebody else stock.

Samples

The sample is a full 100g bundle at normal price. We do not cut smaller test pieces, because a 10g strip tells you nothing about consistency across a bundle and nothing about weight.

Order one bundle in the length and texture you actually sell. Weigh it dry. Then wash it three times with clarifying shampoo and watch what the pattern does.

Our numbers: minimum order is 1 bundle at 100g, 1 wig, or 1 closure or frontal, shipped at normal price. Lengths run 8" to 32" standard, with 34" and 36" on stock confirmation. Lead time is 1 to 2 days in-stock and 10 to 12 working days custom. Exporting to 50+ countries since 2011, with 7-year Alibaba Verified Supplier status.

Frequently asked questions

Is Vietnamese hair good quality?

The origin is a starting point, and the individual bundle decides. Vietnamese hair has a thin shaft and, when it is cut and kept as a ponytail, an aligned cuticle. A Vietnamese bundle that has been acid washed and coated in silicone is poor hair with a good passport. Judge the bundle: weigh it, then slide a strand both directions to check the cuticle.

Is Vietnamese hair better than Chinese hair?

Different, and the answer depends on the client. Vietnamese hair is finer in the strand and blends into fine to medium client hair without a visible line. Chinese hair is coarser and holds volume better on thick client hair. Chinese supply is larger and cheaper at scale.

Who has the best hair bundles?

No brand wins that question, because the useful comparison is between suppliers you can verify and suppliers you cannot. Ask any vendor for a live video call from the factory floor during working hours. Ask them to weigh a bundle on camera. A factory can do both inside a day.

Where can I find Vietnamese hair extensions?

Direct from Vietnamese factories, through Alibaba, or through resellers who buy from those factories and mark up. Each layer between you and the factory adds cost and removes the ability to check anything. Our own range is at Vietnamese hair bundles.

What is the difference between Vietnamese and Indian hair?

Shaft thickness and supply chain. Vietnamese hair is finer and comes through a short chain from rural collection points to the factory. Indian hair covers a wide texture range, much of it from temple donations and salon-floor collection, and it usually passes through several intermediaries before it reaches a weft.

What lengths does Vietnamese hair come in?

8 to 32 inches as standard. 34 and 36 inches exist, with limited stock and a longer lead time. Confirm availability before quoting a client on anything above 32.

How much does a Vietnamese bundle weigh?

100g is the standard. Weigh it dry on a kitchen scale when it arrives. Bundles that land at 85 or 90g are common in the low tier of this market.

Can Vietnamese hair be dyed blonde?

Yes. The thin shaft lifts to 613 with less swelling than coarser origins, and an intact cuticle takes colour more evenly than acid-washed hair. Getting there still takes a competent bleach pass. We do the bleaching and colouring in-house at our factory and ship a physical colour ring before the order is confirmed.

What is the MOQ for Vietnamese bundles?

Ours is 1 bundle at 100g for testing, at normal price. Wholesale minimums are higher and the per-unit price improves with quantity, so send your quantity on WhatsApp and we will give you the tier.

How long does shipping from Vietnam take?

Production is 1 to 2 days for in-stock and 10 to 12 working days for custom. Transit time after production depends on the carrier and destination.
