Vietnamese Hair Vendors: How to Verify a Real Factory
Search for Vietnamese hair vendors and you get a wall of sites saying the same three things. Factory direct. No middleman. One hundred percent raw. We have typed some of those words ourselves. The sentence costs nothing to write, which is why it tells you nothing about who you are buying from.
Most Vietnamese hair vendors sit at the export end of a chain that starts with hair cut from women in northern Vietnam. Some own the processing floor. Some buy finished bundles from a workshop and add their own hangtag. Both call themselves a factory, so verify it yourself: look up the registered company, ask for an unannounced live video call during a working shift, and get the MOQ, lead time and returns policy in writing before you pay.
What tells you something is where a vendor sits in the supply chain, and whether they can show you the room where the hair gets sorted. Here is how that chain works in Vietnam, and the four checks worth running before you send money.
What this guide covers
How the Vietnamese hair supply chain works
The hair is cut from women in rural northern Vietnam. Someone buys it from them. From there it moves through sorting, drying, coloring and finishing before it leaves as Vietnamese hair extensions, wigs, closures or plain bundles.
The part buyers underestimate is how many hands sit between those two points.
Most Vietnamese hair vendors you find on page one of Google sit at the export end of that chain. Some of them own the processing floor. Some of them buy finished bundles from a workshop and put their own hangtag on. Both will describe themselves as a factory, because there is no rule stopping them.
| What you are talking to | Who does the processing | What they can show you on a video call |
|---|---|---|
| A factory | Their own floor and staff | Sorting tables, drying racks, the order being packed |
| A trading company | A workshop they buy from | A showroom, finished stock, sometimes a borrowed video |
| A reseller | Someone else entirely | Photos, a price list, a shipping receipt |
None of these three is a scam by default. A trading company that is upfront about being one can be a fine partner for a small or mixed order. The trouble starts when a reseller quotes you factory lead times and then misses them, because they were waiting on a workshop the whole time.
For the full taxonomy and the vetting sequence that applies to any country, we wrote the full vendor-vetting walkthrough separately. This guide stays on Vietnam.

Four checks that show whether a Vietnamese hair vendor owns a factory
Run them before the first payment, not after the first bad shipment. If you would rather read the failure modes than the checks, we listed seven warning signs that show up before the money does in a separate post.
1. Look the company up in Vietnam's business registry
Vietnam publishes company registrations. Ask the vendor for the registered company name and enterprise code, then search for it on the National Business Registration Portal.
Three things are worth reading in the result. Whether the registered activity includes manufacturing rather than trade only. Whether the registered address matches the factory address they gave you. Whether the founding date matches the number of years in their marketing copy.
A mismatch is a question, not a verdict. Plenty of real factories operate under a parent company with a different name. Ask them to explain it and see how fast the answer comes.
2. Ask for an unannounced video call during a working shift
Pick a Tuesday morning Vietnam time and ask to see the floor live. Not a scheduled tour. Not a file they send you afterwards.
Ask them to walk from the sorting tables to the drying racks to the packing bench without cutting the call. Ask them to point the camera at the company sign on the building. Ask them to hold up today's date written on paper.
A vendor who only ever sends pre-recorded footage, or who can show you a showroom but never a production room, is telling you something.
3. Read the verification badge down to what it covers
Badges are useful when you know their scope. Alibaba Verified Supplier means a third party has checked the business exists and inspected the premises. It says nothing about whether a specific bundle is one donor.
Same logic applies to broadcast coverage. A camera crew filming inside a factory confirms the factory exists and the crew stood in it. It does not certify the composition of any product. Ask what each badge covers before you weight it.
4. Ask them to photograph your order before it ships
Send this request with the deposit, not after. A vendor who runs their own packing bench can take ten photos of your bundles on a scale, with the length tag visible, before the box is sealed.
A vendor who is waiting on a workshop will find reasons why this is difficult. That single request separates the two faster than any question about certificates.
Want the current wholesale tier?
Send the length, texture and quantity your buyers ask for. We reply with the tier that matches and say whether it ships from stock or runs at the factory.
What Vietnamese hair vendors can prove, and what nobody can
Here is the part of this industry most guides skip.
Ask any factory for one-donor and they will say yes. Nobody can prove it in a photo. Order three grades from the same factory and compare the tail thickness in your hand. That is the only test that means anything.
We hold ourselves to the same line. The hair is cut from women in northern Vietnam. We buy it, sort it, and process it in our own factory. What we can put in front of a camera is the sorting floor, the drying racks and the finished bundle.
We cannot show you a certificate that says one donor, and neither can anyone else in this industry.
So ask for the checkable things instead. Weight on a scale. Length measured from the weft. Cuticle direction under a cheap USB microscope. Wash behaviour after three washes. Those tests cost you one bundle and they answer more than an hour of messaging.
If the vocabulary itself is the confusing part, we broke down what raw Vietnamese hair actually means against virgin and remy in a separate guide.

Terms to pin down in writing before you wire money
Verbal quotes on a call are worth nothing when a shipment goes wrong. Ask Vietnamese hair vendors for all four in writing, before the deposit.
Minimum order, and what a sample actually is
Ask what the testing minimum is and what the wholesale MOQ is. They are usually different numbers, and vendors quote only one of them unless you ask for both. A salon owner testing a single texture and a distributor stocking a season need different answers.
A sample from us is a full 100g bundle at the normal price, because a 10g snippet cut from a weft cannot tell you anything about tail thickness. If a vendor offers you a free 20g cutting, you are testing their marketing budget rather than their hair.
Lead time, split by what is already in stock
Ask for two numbers, not one. Any vendor quoting a single lead time for everything is guessing.
- Ready to ship Natural black #1B machine weft, 16 to 26 inches. Leaves Hanoi in 1 to 2 days.
- Made to order Everything else, depending on length, texture and color complexity. 10 to 12 working days at the factory.
- Testing MOQ One bundle of 100g, or one wig, or one closure or frontal.
If someone quotes you 7 days for a custom 200-bundle order in a fashion color, they are either reselling somebody else's stock or they are going to miss the date.
What happens when a bundle arrives wrong
This is the question almost nobody asks before paying, and the one that decides how much a vendor relationship actually costs you.
Ours is published on the site with a clock on it. The refund window is 72 hours from completed delivery, for hair that arrives defective, or in a different texture, length or material than ordered. You email sale@azhairvietnam.com with the receipt, proof of purchase and photos, and customer service responds in 2 to 3 business days. Hair that has been washed or altered is not eligible, and return shipping is on the buyer.
You may want better terms than that. What matters is that you can read them before you order. Ask your current vendor to put their version in writing and compare the two.
Who is the importer of record
Agree before shipping whether the quoted price includes duty and customs clearance in your country. A quote that looks cheaper on paper often stops at the airport.
Where AZ Hair Vietnam fits
We are a direct manufacturer with our own factory and our HQ in Hanoi. No middleman, no resellers, no markup layers. We have been exporting Vietnamese hair to 50+ countries since 2011.
We control our 6-step production process in-house: sourcing local Vietnamese hair, sorting and aligning cuticles, natural air drying, bleaching and coloring, quality inspection, and final extension production.
Two international broadcasters have filmed inside that factory. Channel NewsAsia shot there, and so did NPO Netherlands. Both broadcasts are public, so you can watch them without asking us for anything.
We have also held Alibaba Verified Supplier status for 7 years, which means a first order can run through Trade Assurance escrow if direct trust has not been built yet.
- Standard lengths 8 to 32 inches. We can do 34 and 36, but stock is limited and lead time is longer, so confirm with the team before ordering.
- Lifespan 3 to 5 years with a sulfate-free wash routine, heat protectant and correct storage between wears.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the best hair suppliers in Vietnam?
There is no ranking body, so treat every list including ours as a starting shortlist. Judge on four things you can check: a registered manufacturing entity, a live unannounced factory call, a published returns policy, and one sample you test in your own hand. We compared seven of them in 7 best Vietnamese hair suppliers for buyers in 2026, and we are in it alongside six companies that are not us.
Where can I buy Vietnamese hair?
Directly from a Vietnamese factory, through a trading company, or through a marketplace like Alibaba. Buying direct removes a markup layer and puts you in contact with the people who can fix a problem. Marketplace escrow is worth using on a first order when you have no history with the vendor.
Is there a website for a Vietnamese hair factory?
Plenty of real factories run only an Instagram account, because that is where their buyers are. A missing website is not a red flag on its own. A missing registered company name is.
What is the minimum order from Vietnamese hair vendors?
It varies, and most vendors quote a wholesale minimum while you are asking about a test order. Ours for testing is one bundle of 100g, one wig, or one closure or frontal. Ask both numbers every time.
How do I know the hair is actually from Vietnam?
Nobody can hand you a document that settles it, which is the honest answer. What you can do is order the same length and texture from two vendors, weigh both, look at cuticle direction under a USB microscope, and wash both three times. Hair that has been acid-stripped and silicone-coated behaves differently by wash three.
The short version
Every vendor in this market writes the same sentence about being a factory with no middleman. The sentence is free, so it carries no information. What carries information is a company registration you can look up, a live call during a working shift, a packing photo on request, and a returns policy with a clock on it.
Run those four on every shortlist you build, including on us. The Vietnamese hair vendors who can answer all four the same day are the ones worth a first order.
